Spydrs perform the musical 'HONK! Jr.'

Based on Hans Christian Anderson's classic tale, "The Ugly Duckling", HONK! is an enchanting comic musical packed with sparkling wit, brilliant design, a memorable score and dazzling choreography - including a chorus of tap dancing frogs...

With music by George Styles and lyrics by Antony Drewe, "Honk" tells the story of 'Ugly' whose odd gawky looks instantly produces prejudice from his family and neighbours. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry cat, 'Ugly' must find his way back, while his mother Ida searches for him. Along his journey he not only discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny, but also finds love and acceptance. "Honk" with all it's wonderful humour, charm and message of tolerance is perfect for audiences of all ages.

This is the first time SPYDRS has performed a show of their own. The adult version of Honk! has already won three Best Musical awards - the 2000 Laurence Olilvier Award, The FNB Award in South Africa, and the Elliot Norton Award in the USA.
